  • Do you have an idea for a business, but need some assistance in getting started?

  • Do you wish to learn more about job search techniques or interviewing techniques?

  • Are you interested in joining a job finding club?

  • Are you entering the labour force after being at home for a number of years?

  • Do you wish to find out more about the hidden job market?

  • Do you have job skills but think that wage subsidy would assist you in securing work?

This is what we can do for you:

If you are unemployed with the ability to work in Canada, we can help you get back to work with a plan of action.  There is no cost to you for any of our employment services except your time.  You will meet with one of our Employment Counsellors who are experienced in helping people start moving in the right direction.  Your individual counselling session will involve:

  • assessing your current skills and abilities

  • determining what is stopping you from finding work

  • setting short and long term goals in a Return-To-Work Action Plan

  • tailor a Return-To-Work plan that fits each person as an individual

Your Return-To-Work Action Plan may include:

referral to local job readiness workshops or programs
           if you haven't searched for employment for a period of time, you
          may find that your job search skills are out of date

referral to a career planning program
          if you need to consider a career change, you will find current labour
         market information in one of the local programs
assistance with an application for skills upgrading
         if you can't find a job with your current skills and experience, we may
         be able to assist you with an application for funding.  Funding may
         also be available to persons who are unable to find work due to a
         permanent disability
referral to a wage subsidy program
          if you have skills but lack work experience, you may be eligible for a
          referral to a wage subsidy program in your area
