Bowman Employment Services coordinates a wage subsidy program that is designed to help unemployed persons gain work experience.  Through this
program, an employer receives assistance with wage costs while an employee
         benefits from current work experience.

The program assists employers to:

  • Save money - Employers have an opportunity to receive reimbursement for a
percentage of wages of a new staff member.

  • Save time -     Employers do not have to advertise and spend time screening
resumes.  We have a pool of qualified candidates and can
forward resumes once an employer has completed a wage
                              subsidy application.

The program assists eligible unemployed persons:

  • more job opportunities that might otherwise not be available without a subsidy

  • an edge over other candidates

  • valuable work experience in a new or different industry

  • minimum 30 hrs per week

  • obtain transferable skills

Eligibility criteria for Wage Subsidy:

  • currently receiving Employment Insurance Benefits, or
  • received Employment Insurance Benefits ending within the previous 36 months, or
  • received Employment Insurance Benefits which started in the previous 60 months and on which they were paid maternity or parental benefits.
